Basic Dyes

Basic dyes are soluble in alcohol or methyl sprit but do not soluble in water. Can be applied to substrate with anionic character in areas where electrostatic attractions are formed
Applied usually to silk, wool, jute, cotton and acrylic fibers.
Also used in coloration of paper
